Hey lady, I just want you to know that I see you. I see you spinning your wheels and working hard in all areas. I see you having a breakdown in the shower because you feel overwhelmed. I see you smiling to save face because you want everyone to believe that you have it all together. I see you trying day in and day out to make the best of your day, even though all you want to do is get in bed and sleep it away. I see you.
I want you to know that it is okay to not be okay. It is okay to tell someone, “you know what, I am having a crappy day/week/season”. It is okay to be your true and authentic self in the moment that you are in. You are human, accept that and all that comes with it. Accept that you are not perfect and that you are in the reality that you are in. Accept that it’s okay to feel your emotions and let them overtake you. Accept that today or this season you are in is just not a good one.
But also, accept that this is just that… a Season. And my friend, there is so much beauty in it, even though it is hard to see right now. Accept that this will not be your new normal because you are growing and learning. That you will overcome the trial you are facing. That you will walk through this season, look back and be able to say that you are a stronger and better woman because of it. Accept that you are a beautiful child of God and He is with you through every second.
We all have trials we are facing in this life. Let’s learn to be real with one another. To be authentic and honest. Build your life with friends that agree that it’s okay to not be okay. Because those friends, they will walk through the fire with you. They will join hands and pray for and with you. They will lift you up in the ways they know bring your spirit peace and joy.
So, I say again…Friend, it is okay to not be okay. We live in a messy world. Hear me when I say… You will get through this and it won’t be your forever. You will continue to grow and learn. Keep your eyes and your heart focused on God. He will guide you through it. Seek Him, your happiness and seek your truth. It’s okay to not be okay. I promise, one day you will be.
